If you can't get guest additions installed (i.e. Transferring files without guest additions I've had some trouble running drag'n'drop in seamless mode, but this method usually works great (as long as it is supported) You should be able to drag and drop files from your host machine to the guest OS. Under Drag'n'drop, select which directions you want file sharing to go (I selected bidirectional).Ĭlose the settings window and launch your virtual machine. If you haven't installed Guest Additions yet, VirtualBox has an official tutorial here.Ĭlick the orange settings icon for your virtual machine, and navigate to General > Advanced. If you're running an operating system that isn't supported by guest additions, please see method #2*.* Specific instructions and a list of supported guest OSes can be found here. Transferring files with guest additions (easiest) If there are any other methods you would suggest, please let me know. Anyway, if anyone has a better idea about how to transfer the files it will be great also.I found that there isn't a lot of information out there about how to transfer files into and out of a VirtualBox guest OS, so here is a tutorial I made. I couldn't figure how I can supply a LockType as an argument to create_shared_folder. _shared_folder("Requests", self.shared_folder_dir, True, True) # that the vm won't be changed by one process while another one isn't aware. # Before any change or modification on the vm, the session must be locked using mutex, in order to make sure Self.shared_folder_dir = os.path.dirname(os.path.realpath(_file_)) + "/Requests To Execute/" # received from the server to its virtual machine. With this folder the client transfers the files of the current request which have # The virtual box of the current executor. I'm really new to this and not familiar with the different methods, but for now I'm trying to transfer the files using shared folders: self.vbox = virtualbox.VirtualBox() I have to keep a high security protocol and to not exceed the limits of the script, there is no option doing things manually. I'm currently working on a script that sends files from Win10 to Oracle vm running Win10 as well.
