Eventually, the PC version was patched to more closely emulate the console's changes, and then Reaper of Souls came along to leapfrog the console variant with more features and new content. The original console version of Diablo 3 released last year was one of my favorite games of 2013, as it solved many problems that still plagued the PC version at the time, namely poor item drop rates/quality, and the ever-looming specter of the Auction House, which made finding gear in the wild relatively useless. That could have meant disparate release dates, but obviously that didn't come to pass. It was always going to exist, but licensing with Microsoft apparently took longer than it did with Sony. To date, there had been plenty of information about PlayStation' Ultimate Evil Edition, but only whispers about the Xbox version. The announcement today breaks the suspense about what was going on with the Xbox version of the game.
